The entertainment
The backbone of entertainment on every ship is the dancing and singing troupe.
They are on stage almost every evening from the first day of the cruise to the last.
You do not expect much from the dancing and singing troupe on a 3 star ship and you do not get much either. But who cares. What they lack in finesse, execution of the notes or the dance symmetry they make up in enthusiasm. The other evening the girls had Hawaian style get up on,the hoola hoola skirts just under their little bellies had the men transfixed.Remember this is an old folks cruise, for only retired or self-employed or such can go away for 45 nights and not be missed,so an average age of man-folk is I reckon,75, if a day.The men have not seen enticing bellies like this since their courting days, some not even then.Enraptured I am sure they did not even hear what the girls were singing, the high notes not quite high enough, the low notes lost in translation, it was the twirling swirling hips that counted, the applause was thundering. Yeap, the dancing girls can do no wrong these 45 nights.
Yesterday we had Mr Morgan Lee James entertaining with opera singing and jokes telling. An hour passed by and I did not want it to end.
A couple are having dinner in a restaurant, laughing, talking.Food is brought, they begin to eat.Suddenly the man slips under the table and is not coming up,the woman continues to eat as if nothing had happened. The worried waiter goes to her and says, madam, your husband is under the table, is he all right. It is not my husband, says she,my husband has just walked into the restaurant.
Mr James was full of harmless jokes like this.He is decamping in Antigua, but we will have the pleasure of his company tomorrow evening.
