Hurrah,finally civilization!

My mobile buzzed with excitement letting me know all is well and it can be used. And it was!Have sent countless messages to friends and family members not connected to the internet. In an hour and half we are docking in Puerto Limon,Costa Rica.I have a tour to a banana plantation. Now,I,for one, dislike the ruddy things, the smell!Oh,I know all about the goodness of a banana and have even moments when I buy one or two.The banana business had brought in its heyday prosperity to the Puerto Limon region, thus the whole of Costa Rica and it still flourishes here. I want to know more about this gold fruit I do not like yet the lives of so many people depend on.I have seen bananas grow in Israel many years ago when I had spent the most wonderful months on a kibbutz Sedot Yam. Puerto Limon has tropical climate and today good 28 C is expected, but some rain, too,as November is the beginning of the rainy season. It is claimed that Costa Ricans are the happiest people in the world as their country appears to have everything a human being needs to be content- waters to fish in, good soil to grow things, perfect climate, sands for an easy enjoyable life and the forests, the wonderful forests. Christopher Columbus landed on 12 October in 1502 on an island Isla Uvita, that is about 20 minute boat ride from Puerto Limon.Every year on 12th October a festival begins in Limon to celebrate this date. The festival lasts for 14 days. But apparently it is not to celebrate the day of the island's discovery, but a cultural festival that just happens to begin on the 12th.I do not understand the logic. And here we are pulling into the harbour.Holland America'magnificent Zuiderdam is already stationary. No,it is not a ship,it is a house and a half!
