After the tour and a quick lunch

I went out again to see what the town of Scarborough had to offer. It was hot.Very, very hot.Scorchingly hot.But I walked. That is how I see places and get to know them.At every step same old, same old.Old.Town fell asleep in the 50's and has not yet woken up.Maybe I need a bit of help from the locals to point me in the right direction.Oh,there are two lovely ladies coming towards me, clean, smart, coiffured hair, bottoms the size that would make an American proud.I bowed my head slightly, smiled, because the smile is one accessory a tourist must always have at hand.Hello, you are two lovely looking ladies, you would know where I can find some nice boutiques. The shock and utter disbelief on their faces. What have I said.Is my accent too strange to them,or,perhaps, they do not speak English. Shop with nice clothes, I tried again, slowly. Aaah, shop, they looked at each other with relief. Yes, a shop, where is the main shopping street, please? This is the main shopping street, said one and pointed in the direction I came from. And there, pointed the other, just where the white car is parked, you go up and further on the left is a clothes shop where I bought this dress. No you didn't,not there. Yes I did. Oh,yes, you did. I did not have the heart to tell them I had just come from the market, because the local market was where they directed me.Trying hard not to laugh I thanked them profusely and hurried out of their sight and back to the ship. Two,three minutes later there was a tug on my sleeve. You are going the wrong way, said a familiar voice, only this time out of breath, gasping for air, you must cross the road and go up where the white car is.My goodness,I got completely distracted looking at your lovely town, thank you so much for running after me,you are very kind. And she was. I did not have the heart to disappoint her,so I crossed the road, walked again into the market and all the way up,making sure this time I was completely out of their sight,as they were standing watching me,waving, smiling and nodding, before I turned towards the terminal.
