P & O Oceana,12 nights to Portugal and Spain.

Am travelling with my sister. The train ride from London Waterloo to Southampton on Sunday 11 March 2018 was excellent.Journey in a clean, comfortable taxi to the port was equally pleasant.Embarkation a breathe.I had booked a Mini Suite [B 308],this has privileges, one of them being that we were whisked through in a few minutes. The cabin was a revelation, more of an apartment, really. But to this I will devote more time later. Yesterday the weather was merciless and the strong winds played with the ship as if it were a toy in a bath-tub.Luckily had sea-sickness tablets and having taken 2,my sister and I had slept through the worst all afternoon. Before dinner - I have booked freedom dining - had a wonderful long soak in a jacuzzi, yes,my very own jacuzzi. An excellent meal in a Ligurian restaurant followed. And so to bed again!. At 8 this morning were ready for a good workout in the gym and good it was, over an hour. My sister had taught me the moves she goes through every Monday with her friends. Some similar to those I do myself, but I have learnt new tricks and hope to remember most of them. Connection to the ship's wi-fi was quick and easy. And before we knew it it was time to have lunch.I would have preferred to eat in the Ligurian restaurant and be waiter-served, but my sister likes to have more choice and be inspired,so we went to the self-service diner on the 14th floor. Tarka dhal,Thai prawn curry, mushroom rice and the condiments for me,chips and chicken schnitzel for my sister. There were the most exquisite cakes on the side-board served by a waiter, we shared 3 between us,it sounds a lot, but was not really, as the portions were cut small, quite rightly so.I always say Oceana has the best cakes at sea and never was it more obvious than today. Each and every mouthful a concoction of deliciousness. At 15.15 there is a Zumba class and soon we will be turning and twisting and spinning!.
