We docked in Manila for a day only, but had to go through a palava of filling in online landing card and then have a temperature checked by Filipino immigration people who came on board the day before we landed in Manila. In the end the whole procedure took barely 10 minutes,still, I have been to 91 countries and never once had to go through this indignity given that the country is dirty, very dirty, and they were checking people who came on an immaculate five star ship.
What I loved was how family oriented the Filipino people are, many travelled great distance to come and meet their loved ones who work on Queen Anne. Quite wonderful.
And in Manila I let my debit card do the walking, bought sandals for my sister and I and simple lightweight travel bags. The service was always with a huge smile, quite excellent.
