03/07/2016, That was the night that was.

There I am,resplendent happily on my bed, when a mighty thunder quite startles me. AS I kept all my windows, including four skylights and balcony doors, open,I ran down to shut everything,it took all of four minutes, when I got back to the maisonette room I have set out as my bedroom, there was almost a centimeter of water covering the floor. Half of the king size bed was soaking, too, not to mention the newspapers and magazines and whatever else I like to keep beside me, a little office,in fact. It took me almost half an hour to mop up the water. The thunder and lightening were of gargantuan proportions.Never in my life have I seen anything like it. Having switched off the TV and the lights,I walked in the dark from one window to the next to see if they were keeping the rain away, and to my great relief all was well. It is a nightmare if a problem occurs just as I am about to depart. When some sort of a truce arose and the rain became sporadic, I got back to my newspapers and the TV. The alarm clock woke me just before 7. I didn't call a taxi to take me to the bus station, the 20 minute walk did me the world of good. The wi-fi connection at the airport is 78% strong, but serves the purpose.I can access Facebook but not move the page,Still, it is wonderful what the technology enables one to do.
