located on the Aegean coast of Turkey.Home to the Temple of Artemis,one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World(of which very little remains),to the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre,that once seated 25 000 prople - it is believed St.Paul once preached there.
The site is vast,only a fraction is excavated,but what can be seen shows how Ephesus may have looked at the height of the Roman Empire. Modern writers hold that the Blessed Virgin Mary was buried at Ephesus and not in the Valley of Cedron, near Jerusalem.
