Namib Desert, Namibia

is the world's oldest desert. About 55 million years old, it is sparse and arrid.

But it has a lovely oasis where delicious nibbles and scrumptious cakes were served and bubbly so good, even I, teetotaller, was tempted to sip.

Oh, and Mad Max :Fury Road, was filmed in the Namib Desert.
