On Britannia three or so months ago now

I picked up some kind of a virus.I have not had influenza for years,in fact feeling ill is a concept alien to me,as I am always full of life and energy. But this time I had met my Waterloo.I must have been a host to relish for trying as I may to make it go,the virus just would not leave me.Defeated,I went to my GP on 9th May,the day after my birthday. In passing I said to the lovely Spanish lady - would you, please, refer me to a dermatologist,I have a scar that is at times quite angry and I would like it looked at,pushing my fringe aside,so that she could clearly see the raised reddish scar between my eye-brows.It is cancer, the doctor said.Just like that.Words not minced. But it is good cancer,if cancer can be good. How long have you had it? Since childhood. Then last December a Christmas tree fell on me scratching me quite badly between the eyes, making the scar bleed, but it had healed nicely, only a month or so later to get quite angry and red again and noticeably bigger. And it has been the pattern since.Ten days later I was in the Chelsea and Westminster hospital, diagnosis confirmed. Am waiting for a biopsy appointment. Ah,the waiting.Four weeks of it.Four long weeks. Under the circumstances it was prudent to re-organize my future plans.the January 2018 120 day world cruise on the Queen Mary has been changed to the 2019 Queen Victoria world cruise and as this is shorter thus cheaper,I had to book two other cruises to make up for the amount I would have spent on the 120 world cruise. These are the rules if one wants to change a booking and not cancel. So from 17th December next am spending 12 nights over Christmas on Queen Victoria [Canary Islands, have done it once before on the Queen Victoria, wonderful, then the following year on the little Oceana, equally super duper] and in the autumn 2018 going on this magnificent ship to the Caribbean. I have written that I picked up "some kind of a virus "on Britannia.I may have,in fact picked it up on any of the Canary islands, or even carried it with me onto the ship. The nurse at my GP surgery on 9th May told me that she had similar symptoms and my dearest friend went through the same ordeal for almost three months last winter.
